Mamoun is pleased to have another exploration into Carol Reed’s ‘The Third Man’ as he is introducing a screening of the newly restored 4K print, followed by a Masterclass. This is one of the rare opportunities to join Mamoun in discussion.
The screening is on Friday 26 June 2015 14:00 in NFT2
Thanks to StudioCanal and David Somerset at BFI Southbank.
Mamoun is providing editing consultancy to the graduating students at the European Film College, Ebeltoft, Denmark, from April 18 – 23. The students present final projects at the end of the 8 ½ month course.
He is also doing a masterclass on Carol Reed‘s Third Man on the 19th, and another masterclass on composer Fumio Hayazaka, one of Cinema’s most original and influential figures and close collaborator with Akira Kurosawa. This is the first masterclass that focusses on a composer – a new direction for masterclasses.

* or more accurately, in San Antonio de los Baños!
Mamoun has returned from his lecturing in Cuba. As well as some intense one-to-one work with the students, he also made time for mini masterclasses on short sequences, allowing him to focus on specific aspects of screencraft. This is a departure from the extended masterclasses that he has become well known for, and they were very well received. Of course, the full masterclasses are still in demand, and we include here a specially filmed introduction to Carol Reed‘s ‘The Third Man‘ based on the story by Graham Greene.
We would like to thank Studio Canal for their support on this masterclass.
